Abstract

This publication provides general information for designers, owners, operators or fabricators involved with LOX, LIN, LAR flat-bottomed cryogenic storage tank systems. It addresses suggested inner and outer tank and piping design considerations, overpressure and vacuum protection systems, tank overfill protection systems, and liquid nozzle and inlet and outlet piping protection systems. Also covered are suggested storage system vent designs, site selection and separation distance considerations, suggested operator training and emergency response, management of change in tank service, and suggested inspection and testing intervals.
